responding crew: EMT Dillon Buchanan  and Paramedic John Leaf

In the early morning hours of 10/25/2025 my wife of 46 years had a syncopal episode causing her to fall backwards against the bathroom vanity and hitting the back of her head on the corner of the sink top, I had my daughter call 911 as I stayed with her, she was groggy and one eye was looking in a different direction then the other, my daughter gave me the phone and dispatcher David Prescott came on the line, David was very very professional even tho he knew who I was, asked me all the right questions and made sure everything was under control. The variance crew of EMT Dillon Buchanan  and Paramedic John Leaf arrived and went into action, I had left the scene as I would only get in the way with Coon Rapids Fire and the ambulance crew on scene it was too crowded. EMT Buchanan was in charge of getting patient information, in which he was very precise and through,  I could hear the conversation upstairs from  Paramedic John Leaf with my wife and showed a great deal of compassion and professionalism,  even showing concern about me who was breathing heavy due to my LVAD. They brought my wife down stairs in a c-collar and to the stretcher always making sure she was safe. I followed the ambulance to Mercy at a safe distance and was very impressed by EMT Buchanan’s driving, I was an Activride lead and instructor before my LVAD caused my leaving and one of the areas I taught was defensive driving and EMT Buchanan demonstrated very safe and professionalism and patient comfort in his driving. I can not tell people how impressed I was with this crew and the job they did so I wanted this letter to go to upper management to show them the actions of a top notch crew and hopefully share the letter with that crew and others.

Thank you for your time. Andre Masson 35 year now retired Allina transportation employee.
