Who is the IAEP?
The IAEP began in the 1990s as part of NAGE and currently represents over 12,000 EMS professionals all around
the country.
Who does the IAEP represent?
The IAEP represents EMS professionals in all different walks of the profession, including public sector/municipal departments, hospital-based systems, IFT systems, CCT nurses, and dispatch centers.
What is the IAEP dues structure?
Full-time Rate: $8.60/week (If you don’t work in a given week, we don’t charge you dues for that week.)
What Your Dues Do?
As a non-for-profit, membership based organization, the IAEP relies on member dues to operate. Dues rates are voted on each calendar year by an executive board made up of members like you. We never charge dues on weeks you don’t work, and new locals only start paying dues after their first contract is ratified.
Here are just a few of the ways your dues go to work for you:
We employ In-House Contract Negotiators with decades of experience both working in and fighting for organized labor.
Shop Steward Training is offered multiple times a year, hosted by IAEP national representatives with real world EMS experience.
A Fully Staffed IAEP Legal Department is always on hand to step up and fight on your behalf as a member. Whether its wrongful termination or a dispute over compensation, our staff counsel in on your side.
Our leaders are active Social and Political Advocates on your behalf, changing laws as well as minds to benefit the future of EMS.
New Member Organizing that expands the impact of your voice on a national scale by adding growing our union’s ability to affect change. The larger we grow, the harder it is for politicians and the public to ignore your importance as EMS professionals.
Occupational Safety and Health Programs. Our partner union, the State Employees International Union (SEIU) pursues improvements to safety factors like asbestos, blood borne diseases, and other workplace hazards. Public Relations and Media Outreach help spread the word about the IAEP and drive voter support for laws that improve workplace protections.
