November 1, 2023 post meeting update
L167 members,
Negotiations update 2.
We spent most of the day preparing documents for counter proposal back to management. We had another productive day at the table where we were able to get a few more tentative agreements on topics such as:
1. Union recognition
2. Lay off after acquisition
3. Employee Status
4. Time off between shifts
5. Annual training modes of delivery
6. Updating increase and decrease in work agreement process
7. Increase in tool allowance for mechanics
Items that we are still working on:
- Education
- Interest arbitration
- Seniority
- Substance Policy
- Managers doing union work
We left yesterday with a better working document for all to follow. We are hard at work getting the non economic issues taken care of so we will be ready after the next session to move onto economics. The document is getting a small language overhaul at this point so it is taking a bit longer get through all of the small language changes that need to be updated to work with our modern workforce. If you have any specific questions please reach out to a team member. Our next date in November 14.
Your L167
